Meet our musicians

Katherine Seeger

Violin

Katherine Seeger is a classical and jazz violinist and bluegrass fiddler from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She began studying the violin with her father at the age of 4. She was Concert Master and Principal Second of the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony and Wisconsin State Honors Orchestra. She was also a featured soloist with the Moscow Ballet. She is completing her Bachelor’s in Music Violin Performance at the University of Minnesota as a student of Kyu-Young Kim. She has previously studied with Young Nam Kim.

Calvin Moehlman Twin Cities String Quartet

Calvin Moehlman

Violin

Calvin Moehlman is a current student of Sally O’Reilly from Rapid City, South Dakota. During his time in South Dakota, he enjoyed playing as many styles of violin as possible, including classical solo repertoire, chamber music, symphonic music, fiddling, jazz, and even a performance with the heavy metal band Disturbed. He was awarded second place in the 2018 Black Hills young artist competition and was the concertmaster for both the 2018 South Dakota All-State Orchestra and the 2019 South Dakota Honors Orchestra.

Elizabeth Bergmann

Viola

Elizabeth Bergmann has been studying the violin since she was three years old and started playing the viola in 2017. From 2017-2018, Elizabeth played the viola for Quartet Fourzando which continued on to win the Featured Artist and Audience Choice awards for Classical MPR’s Minnesota Varsity, won the grand prize for the SPCO chamber music competition, and performed in a masterclass with the Parker Quartet. Currently, Elizabeth studies violin at the University of Minnesota with Sally O’Reilly. She has performed as a violinist in masterclasses with John Gilbert, Andrew Ling, and Michael Sutton. Recently, she has attended the Pienza Music Festival, the Bravo! Music Festival, and competed in the Mary West Competition.

Tiffany Peterson Twin Cities String Quartet

Tiffany Peterson

Cello

Tiffany Peterson is a cello performance major at the University of Minnesota. She is originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, where her music career began. In high school, she was a cellist in her high school’s chamber orchestra, the Bismarck Mandan Youth Symphony, and the Bismarck Mandan Symphony orchestra. Throughout her music career in North Dakota, she received 11 star ratings and two Outstanding Performance awards at State Music Festival for solo and ensemble. She was the junior division winner of the 2017 Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, and she was the winner of the 2018 Minot Symphony High School Soloist Competition. She was also a four-year member of the North Dakota All-State Orchestra, where she was the principal cellist in 2017, 2018, and 2019. At the University of Minnesota, she is a member of the University Symphony Orchestra. She has studied with Natalia Vacarciuc in North Dakota, and she is currently studying with Tanya Remenikova.
